After spending the last nine months in the evening sky Venus is quickly diving toward the horizon and will be lost in the glare of the setting sun by the third week of March. Meanwhile, Mercury is moving up away from the setting Sun and on the evening of March 18th they will pass. To see the pairing you’ll need a very low west horizon. The viewing window will also be very narrow, between about 7:30 – 7:45pm that evening. Take advantage on this one evening to see the solar system’s inner two planets.
